Summer Safety For Your Pet

Maked superhero dog on lookoutSummer may be winding down in many parts of the country, but here in the San Joaquin Valley we’re still going strong with 90+ degree days and no end in sight. As summer drags on (and on, and on) it’s important to keep the safety of our pets in mind.


Heatstroke is the number one summer safety concern for pets. Heatstroke is a life-threatening condition caused when an animal’s internal temperature rises to 104 degrees or higher. The signs of overheating in pets include excessive panting, difficulty breathing, drooling, weakness, increased heart rate, bright red or “tacky” gums, or seizures. Continue…
